In chiropractor Lynne Sullivan's office are dozens of pictures of smiling, patients on
bulletin boards. On the wall are lists of new patients and referrals and a big "thank you" from Dr. Sullivan. Her patients include everyone from babies to seniors.
Sullivan said that most of her patients come to see her because they have neck or back
pain from a variety of causes. She feels they are pleased to see that chiropractic adjustments not only relieve the pain, but improve their overall health. Sullivan said that only the body has the ability to heal
itself and that chiropractic maximizes the health potential of the body to do that.
Parents bring their young children to Sullivan for evaluations of Scoliosis and early detection of other problems that chiropractic could help.
In addition to treating children, Sullivan works on sports and exercise-related injuries, lower back pain, neck/whiplash injuries, headaches, tingling and numbness in the arms or legs, and carpal tunnel syndrome, among others.
Adjustments are made in specially decorated theme rooms with whimsical names like Lullaby
Lane (for pregnant women), TRex (room for kids with happy dinosaur murals), Fantasy Island (where the massage therapist works), Toon Town, and the x-ray room called Sherwood Forest, with an autographed photo on the
wall to Sullivan and her staff from Kevin Costner as Robin Hood.
Along with providing her patients with quality medical care, Sullivan tries to make them
feel relaxed in this friendly, family like atmosphere.
During the holidays, she hosted a party for members of the Wellness Club, individuals or
families who play a monthly flat fee for aftercare adjustments to maintain health and prevent flare-ups.
Sullivan, whose maiden names was Fruchtenicht, is a 1979 Foothill High School and UC Davis graduate who has lived in
Pleasanton since 1968. She is pleased that many of her lifelong friends and business associates are patients.
She became interested in the field after becoming a chiropractic patient as a result of a
sports injury in college. The adjustment fixed her problem and she found her career.
Sullivan holds a B.A. Degree in Exercise Physiology from the University of California, Davis. She graduated summa cum laude as a doctor of chiropractic and was valedictorian of her class at the Life Chiropractic College-West in San Lorenzo.
She is licensed by the Industrial Medical Council of South San Francisco as a Qualified Medical Examiner, and by the Cleveland Chiropractic College as an Industrial Disability Examiner.
Sullivan has been in practice in the valley since 1986, opening an office on Cedarwood
Lane in 1989 and moving to a larger one on Main Street in 1991.
Active in the community, she is a member of the American Association of University Women, Pleasanton Chamber of Commerce, Scroptomist International of Pleasanton and the Valley Care Hospital Foundation Board.
