Headache study at Duke University:
The study performed at Duke
University in Durham, NC, collected
information from more than 2500
sources.
A February, 2001 report from the
Foundation for Chiropractic
Education and Research finds that
“Chiropractic patients experience
improvement in the frequency and
severity of their headaches.”
According to the report,
Chiropractic adjustments “Appeared
to result in immediate improvement
in headache severity” in patients
experiencing carcinogenic (neck)
headache.
“What is the overwhelming common
cause of 90+% of all headaches? Our
clinical experience demonstrates
that the patient with stress
headaches has this in common with
the patient who has menstrual
headaches. The patient with
migraines had this in common with
the patient who suffers from cluster
headaches. That common denominator
is a condition called Atlas Neuro
Vascular Syndrome which compromises
the integrity between the brain and
body and is the underlying cause of
95% of all headaches. Dr. Finnigan

One study of 6,000 long-term (two to
25 years) headache sufferers
revealed that neck injury (whiplash,
falls) was the most important factor
in the cause of the headache and
“should be suspected in every
nonspecific case of headache.”

of the cervical spine as cause of
chronic headache. Trauma, 1975, 15,

Chiropractors locate, analyze,
correct and remove Atlas Neuro
Vascular Syndrome when they adjust
the upper spine. This is one of the
main reasons why chiropractic has
such a successful history with
patients who experience headaches.
